Sunday Lunch Group

Contact: Shelagh Passey

The group meets at various City Centre restaurants, normally at 1:00 pm on the 1st Sunday of the month. However if the 1st one coincides with a Holiday Weekend or there is an event that is likely to disrupt access to the Cardiff City Centre, it may be held on the 2nd Sunday.

A very popular group, open and welcoming to all. The lunches are all held in or near the Centre of Cardiff.

Members should contact Shelagh before coming along, as tables have to be booked in advance and space is often limited.

With the relaxing of Covid rules we can hopefully return to our regular Sunday Lunches. As usual it will be 1 pm on the first Sunday of the month except for an odd occasion when we might have to make a change.

Our choices are more limited now than two years ago with the closure of some places. Deposits will be required on booking at some restaurants, as you know I am still holding a £10 deposit for a number of you. Please be aware that restaurants need notice of any alteration of numbers, so do take this into consideration. The hospitality industry has been hard hit over the last two years, so please remember this.

Social Media can be a bit like Marmite – you either love it or you don’t.  When used nicely it can have many uses.  It can be informative and help spread the news.

Cardiffu3a has a Facebook page.  The easiest way to find it is either via this link or by going to the top right of the Cardiffu3a homepage and clicking on the Facebook icon.

For those of you who are active Facebook users could we encourage you to give us a ‘Like’ and a ‘follow’.  You may become aware of a new Interest Group you may like to join.

We often get asked about the best way to advertise Cardiffu3a and bring in new members.  There’s no doubting that word-of-mouth is probably the surest method of achieving that.

Sharing the occasional Cardiffu3a Facebook post with your friends can also help spread the word. It’s fairly effortless and you never know where it may lead.  Thanks for your consideration.

This is where to find the Facebook link on our Homepage.
