Welcome

The University of the Third Age

Welcome

Welcome to the Cardiff U3A website.

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides opportunities for retired and semi-retired people to come together to enjoy good company and to learn together, not for qualifications, but for its own reward.

We have over 700 members and have 43 active interest groups. We have a varied programme on offer and hope to add yet more areas of interest in the future. See What's on and When.

We very much welcome new members. We are also well aware that taking that first step over the threshold is the most difficult. We will do our best to make you feel welcome.

We hope you enjoy browsing through the activities we offer. Our aim is to provide interesting learning opportunities and pastimes in a relaxed, friendly environment.

We look forward to meeting you.

Update on Bus Passes for Over-60s

The following has been posted on the Transport for Wales website:

We recognise that not everyone has applied for their new bus pass yet and that some are waiting for their new-style card to arrive.

To make sure that those eligible for free travel continue to enjoy the benefits of their bus pass, we’ve agreed with bus operators a two month grace period in the new year. During this time bus drivers will accept both old and new-style cards for travel.

This period is only temporary and if you wish to continue receiving travel benefits into 2020, you’ll need to reapply before 31 January to make sure that we’ve enough time to issue your card before 29 February.
